Geometry and Algebra are so difficult and geometry is used a LOT. I had no idea how much geometry was in sewing or almost anything else, for that matter. Fractions, YUCK. The only thing that got me to use fractions was cooking. And cooking is also chemistry, which you can't take unless you have advanced math.

Basic math I use every day several times. I admit I must use a calculator. Once, I added wrong and knew the number was totally off, but if I hadn't had the calculator, it would have taken me ages to get the answer. Right or wrong!

When I take my insulin, I do this crazy formula. Let's say my blood sugars are 265. I need to subtract 120 from that, take that number and divide by 30...that gets me to how much insulin I need to take in addition to the amount I take for the number of carbs I eat. That is often divided by 5 (so a slice of chicken garlic pizza is 30 delicious carbs, I need to take 6 units of insulin for that slice.). Easy, but not always. Nice round numbers are not often found in foods. So, if you look at the numbers above, I'd need to take 6+4ish for just one piece of pizza.

I guess I'm glad I don't live in Kentucky, where Math is illegal. Even if it confounds the heck out of my poor aged brain!
