The song is cute, catchy and not entirely true. You can never have a life free from cares. However, it is good advice as an overall picture.
"When you walk the streets you'll have no cares.
If you walk the lines and not the squares.
As you go through life, make this your goal,
Watch the donut, not the hole."
The goodness around me is where I hope to keep my focus. On gooey tasty maple, sprinkles, or whatever delicious messy layer is on top of the fried ring of decadence. Unfortunately, the empty hole is waiting for me to fall into it. It is necessary to hang on and not let go of those around me. Friends are a wonderful support system to keep you grounded as you walk. I'm always humbled by their unstinting gifts of themselves. They are the goodness and the chocolate chips in my life. People like Linda and Don and Randy and Kelly and Nissie and Chris and so many many more! (although, most of those special folk don't happen to have links to their worlds!) I am sure they'll be highlighted in some way, eventually.
