Well, she needed to empty her waste bag. On her way to the bathroom, she turned off and took off her oxygen. (She doesn' toften wear it during the day) Then, she realised it was leaking. So, she decided to change the thing herself. She 'washed' herself off, looked for the things I have used for months to take care of her, was annoyed because they were not where she would have put them). She tore off the fitting (she was not going to use the stuff to dissolve the old glue!) and rubbed the dissolve pad around the hole in her tummy. It was not clean or goop free, but she figured it was. I had made her breakfast because I assumed she would eat with a low blood sugar and left her to keep it warm. She finally got it on, got dressed, and pattered out to the table.
After she ate and was in her chair freezing, because her blood had dropped, I talked to her. I told her I was here to help her and she should have had some juice (she scorns glucose tablets) and let me change her. However, her response was classic mom.
'You told me I need to learn to do things by myself again.' So, her freezing from a low blood sugar and doing things when she is shaking and can't concentrate is my fault. Oi! I am glad she is sound asleep again. She did not want any meds. She is also trying to stay away from meds except when she is sleeping. Since her symptoms are all supposed to be there and she will be well by summer, she is doing her best to be well as soon as possible. Which, in turn, makes her unwell.
Her choice, but oh BOTHER!
