"....some things that look like accidents are really stories finding their own beginnings..." Wonder Show by Hannah Barnaby.
This book took me ages to read. Because I didn't want it to end. Portia, the main character, is finding her story inside so many other stories and her journey changes her. For me, this is an important part of stories. Change and growth. Stories where the characters make me want to spank them and send them to their rooms without their dinner drive me nuts. Especially when those characters are the main ones!!!
This book reminded me of me. Portia was lost and did her dad burned best to find her way and took chances as she discovered a different story. She experienced ideas and looked outside the box, while hiding within it. Eventually, she escapes her box with the help of unusual friends. Friends who have become family.
I have learned some of my very best friends are ones I've never met or know from my past. Friends from online. I don't know why I can't forge friendships with people I can physically touch. I have a few, but they don't really know me. I guess I'm afraid. Like Portia, I observe and exist and do in my own world. I am not sure what I need. I do know I can't give up in searching for where I belong.
